Contract Duration: 2 years renewable Contract hours: 38 hours per week Tentative start date: 1 Feb 2025 Salary: KRW 3,493,148 KRW 4,123,233 depending on qualifications and experience. This includes KRW 1,000,000 one million Korean won per month housing allowance. MAIN DUTIES: Plan, prepare, and deliver high quality English language teaching that meets the needs of different customer groups taking into account individual learning styles. Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to help manage students performance throughout the course, and actively promote learner autonomy. Ensure teaching meets the standards expected in Teaching and Learning Reviews, the annual Academic Quality Plans, and organisational expectations. Actively engage in professional development and performance management to ensure quality and high standards in teaching and learning maintain the British Council s position at the forefront of best ELT practices. Assist with the activities of the teaching center and the British Council s plans, which include attending staff meetings, helping with local marketing events and promotional strategies, completing teaching related administrative tasks to designated standards. Maintain good relationship with customers and collegues. Ensure guidelines and policies are applied and upheld in relation to Safeguarding, Data Protection, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Special Educational Needs and Disability, Health and Safety. PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Essential Undergraduate degree and applicants must have one of the below UK qualifications or an equivalent from another country: Montessori Diploma in Early Years NCFE Council for Awards in Care, Health and Education CACHE Level 4 Diploma in Steiner Waldorf Early Childhood Studies Early Years Educator NCFE CACHE Level 4 Diploma in Montessori Pedagogy Birth to Seven Early Years Educator NCFE CACHE Level 4 Certificate for the Early Years Advanced Practitioner Pearson BTEC Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care Pearson BTEC HNC Diploma in Advanced Practice in Early Years Education NILE online Teaching English in Pre Primary Education PGCE Early Years Desirable Recognised certificate in EFL i.e. CELTA Trinity TESOL TEFLi or Recognised diploma in EFL i.e. DELTA Trinity Diploma TESOL TEFLq B.Ed Early Years WORK EXPERIENCE Essential 2 years full time post qualification teaching experience in Early Years and or equivalent to 1,800 hours OR 2 years full time post qualification teaching experience in Early Years and Primary and or equivalent to 1,800 hours . Experience teaching non native speakers of English or English as an Additional Language EAL . Experience teaching phonics. Desirable Experience teaching: Early Years Foundation Stage for England EYFS International Early Years Curriculum IEYC Primary aged 6 to 10 LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS High proficiency in English i.e. CEFR level of C2 IELTS Band 8 in each of 4 sections of the academic module ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Fares and travel: If you are recruited from outside Korea, the British Council will pay economy class air fares from your home country to Seoul at the start of contract and Seoul to your home country at the end of the successful completion of the contract. The British Council will also pay for the same incoming and outgoing air fare for spouse, partner, and or children recognised via the Family Certificate and Partner Declaration Form.
